Primary Extra-Curricular
Music
Private music lessons are available during school time on an individual or group basis. These include violin, brass, woodwind, percussion and piano. Details of these are available at the commencement of the year. Lessons are charged for separately.
Excursions
Excursions are held for all Prep - Year 6 classes, some wholly in school hours and others running beyond normal school time. Every care is taken when planning these outings so that they will be enjoyable, profitable and safe. A small charge will sometimes be made to cover admission and transport costs. Permission is sought from parents at the start of the school year to cover local excursions (which involve walking away from the College grounds, eg. to the neighbouring park.)
Year 6 has an annual camp to Canberra, joining with students from other Adventist schools. The cost will be notified early in the year, allowing families to make periodical payments. This makes the camp more affordable for ALL families.
Library
The library is an integral part of the college's academic program. It acts as a resource centre for learning and recreational reading. Whole classes use the library during class time. It is also open some lunchtimes to encourage students to borrow books.
Fines may be given out for late returns. Students are encouraged to take borrowed books home. Parents should ensure that students take care of their books because damage and losses can be expensive. Losses are to be paid for.
A library bag is required to protect books and can be purchased from the Librarian.
Active Heritage
As one way to cater for the development of the physical aspect of our students the College offers breakfast to students and all Primary students spend the first 15 minutes of the day engaging in some form of physical activity.
Enrichment
On Friday afternoon students from Years 3-6 are involved in practical, hands-on activities such as crafts, cooking, woodwork, experiments, drama and other life skills.
