Parent Involvement It is recognised that parents are a child's primary educators and in attending our school we are forming a partnership for the education of their children. Parental involvement is encouraged in the form of:
Assisting in everyday classroom tasks such as listening to reading or giving help to special needs students.
Operating the school Canteen.
Assistance on excursions.
Assistance in the library e.g. covering books.
Supporting working bees to help maintain school infrastructure.
Providing significant parental representation on the Heritage College Committee of Management.
All volunteers are required to have a Working With Children Check (WWCC). If you do not have a WWCC, the Office can provide the documentation you need to apply for one. Volunteers coming onto the College grounds must sign in and out at the Office when they arrive and leave.
Want to meet with other parents? If you are new to the school or would just like to get to know some of the other parents and families - there is always a small gathering of parents who get together to share a hot drink and morning tea after assemblies on Monday mornings at around 9:15am. Feel free to join the parents in the dining room.
